KVS is an autonomous organization that comes under the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. They invite applications to hire for various positions in teaching, non teaching, officer cadre and the like for schools. The hiring is normally done through a competitive exam.

KVS Syllabus
The syllabus varies for all the positions as trained graduate teachers (TGTs), post graduate teachers (PGTs) and PRT (music).
PGTs: The syllabus is divided in two parts – Part 1 comprises of multiple choice questions in English and Hindi and Part 2 consists of questions related to current affairs, teaching methodology, reasoning ability and numerical, and the subject concerned to the specialization.
TGTs: The training is similar to that of PGTs, just the subjects like English, Math, Social Studies varies based on the specialization.
PRTs: Even though it is related to music, the applicant has to go through the similar exam along with the area of specialization i.e. music.
KVS Eligibility
The age limit for a PGT is 40 years and should have scored at least 50percent in graduation or post graduation with any specialization. Whereas for TGTs, the age limit is 35 years, graduation with CTET pass and the age limit for PRTs is 30 years with intermediate or higher secondary along with CTET pass and a degree in music.
